This store has more choice than other local stores. Their produce is fresh, but costs more than Walmart. I buy most of my produce here, and visit the store a couple times a week.
Prices are a little higher than you’re probably used to but it beats risking your life to shop at Walmart. Lots of their items can be found cheaper at the dollar store but it’s a one stop shop here. Lots of value pack meats for sale. The employees are nice enough and super slow like you find at most country stores. There’s lots of homemade baked goods and deli options. This is a place that if you go enough, they’ll remember your name.
Nice, clean, wide aisles, fresh meat, fish, and produce. Good service. Prices are a bit higher than Walmart but it is a much nicer place to shop.
With liking to cook a nice, expensive meal like Beef Wellington once very few months, I have found that Albertsons is the only store in Hammond where I can get great quality, hard to find items. The butcher in the meat department is more than willing to go out of his way to help you find the perfect cut of meat at the best price. I will definitely go back when I'm wanting to cook this meal again or try something new.
Restroom has always smelled worse than any other in the Hammond area, and no paper towels. This is just not once, but for years. The store is great.
