UPDATE 2017: This dealership has such a terrible reputation that it has had to hire a PR firm to post and maintain a scam site with fake reviews in order to offset their inefficient ability to satisfy there customers. Stay clear of this dealer unless you like getting the run around and outright abuse of anything that is positive about a new car buying experience. Here is my original review from 2013: Bill Hood Hyundai is about the last place you would want to spend any money at. After researching which car I wanted I found what I wanted at Bill Hood Hyundai. After agreeing on a price I drove in from Baton Rouge to make the deal. What a waste of time that I will never ever get back. At the finance officers desk the price went up $500. If that wasn't enough in the process they took my cars which I was using as a trade in and made a copy of the registration. In all the all the mayhem of all the deception I forgot my registration. Upon notifying Hood Hyundai of my registration I was assured it would be put up until my return. When I went to retrieve my registration the sales manager refused to give it back and told me to go to the DMV to get a copy. Motivated to get what I wanted I drove a little farther to Northpark Hyundai in Covington. Northpark did not have the car in stock but they got it the next day and without the $500 increase in price. Not only that but Northpark gave me way more in trade. I will say thanks to Bill Hood Hyundai for the motivation from the absolute repulsive nature of there negative business practices. Without them I would have never experiences the true bad side of stereotypical car buying as compare to how good an satisfying it can truly be when you find the right dealer. I am now the proud owner of a new Sonata Hybrid. When buying my car I shopped all the dealers in Louisiana over the phone and the one dealer here in Baton Rouge. With an informed decision I found a good dealer in Covington and saved over $2,000. It was worth it to me.
Very friendly fellows and also super knowledgeable
I told him that I will be taking my car to get a second opinion, and will be turning it into the insurance company and he threw the clipboard on the desk and stormed out.
When Erik entered the room, he came in with disbelief and a horrible attitude, stating that the car has a "clean bill of health" and that there is nothing wrong with my car because THEY serviced it, along with Progressive and Gerber. THEN, he made the remark, "I think you're making up an excuse because you just don't want the car." I was horribly offended by the way he spoke to me, when all I was asking was for someone to listen to my engine.
I am leaving this comment so others know the professionalism of their service department. Thank you.
I have tried to seek higher management but have failed.
(Let me make this point clear: If i did not want a car, I would either sell it, or not buy it in the first place!)
I wouldn't even grant this dealership, or service department, one star!!!!!
Three days later, after having more problems with the car, I came into the office and spoke with a guy and told him all of the problems I was having with the car. he told me that I would have to speak with Erik, who serviced the car prior to me coming in.
I am disgusted by the way I was treated.
We received horrible service from Gary in the service department. They only fixed half of the problem and made it seem like he did us a favor when in reality, he was doing his job and barely that. We never once got a call with status updates and they had our car for 6 days. Every time we called Gary was "busy" and no one else had any idea what was going on. We will not be using them again.
I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with the service department. I will NEVER step foot on this lot again and will continue to share my experience with anyone who is affiliated with their lot.
We were jerked around about price. Which we expected, this is a dealership. And honestly, that's not what bothered us the most. It was the finance's guys professionalism. I know we are in the south, but this guy came out to talk to us with a mouth full of dip. I watched him spit in the sales man's trash can. He talked down to us both like we were children and he had a huge attitude every time I spoke, I can only assume he thought that a woman should know their place. He was very rude to us and his unprofessional demeanor is the biggest reason we walked. If a staff is kind and friendly I have no problem paying a little more to deal with good people. But when you are rude and basically tell me I'm an idiot, you can keep your car.
I have a Hyundai Sonata, 2013 limited model. I have been hearing a noise with my engine, even after it got serviced by them. I was told by Gerber collusion to contact the service man, Erik, to follow up with the review. After SEVERAL attempts to follow up, I NEVER got a call back from them.
One day, about two weeks later, my problems progressed. I attempted to call once again and spoke with a man named Les. He was COMPLETELY rude and insisted that there were NO problems because THEY serviced it. I told him, "Sir, I would not call if I was no longer having service trouble."
