Waited 3 weeks for my new patient appointment. I spoke to the office several times checking to make sure everything was verified and good to go, as I live in New Orleans and it's about an hour drive one way to see Dr. Flagg. I was assured that he had been given all of my records that had been sent over. The day of my appointment, November 27, 2017 I arrived 20 minutes early for my 115 appt. time. At 330 i was finally called back. When Dr. Flagg came in he said he wanted a new MRI, because the one i had done was 4 months old. I agreed and said I'll talk to my insurance and get it scheduled. He said ok, schedule a follow-up when you do. In the meantime continue getting your pain medicine from your previous doctor. I informed him that he had already gotten my records and that dr has transferred me to him. I asked if he could start the injections while we wait for the new mri, He said, "get the mri, sorry for the wait". Awful, embarrassing, experience. Very cold, distant, and all around rude. No bedside manner and no compassion. Disgusting physician.
I have been using Dr Flagg for around two years. The first visit he looked at the medicine that I was prescribe by the doctor I had been using he said i was taking too much medicine he cut the medicine down to half of the medicine that I was prescribe by the doctor I had been using. Now he has changed my medicine I let him know that it's not working he doesn't seem to have any concerns about my pain or suffering my insurance will not allow me me to change my doctor he is now cutting my medicine down my quality of life with the pain I'm in is just not worth living like this. So if you are looking for a doctor who will be considered and helpful in controlling your pain DON'T go to Dr Flagg. I am treated very nice and the staff are professional. I'm just not satisfied with the way he is attempting to get my pain to a point that I would be able to have somewhat of a normal life.
My wife had neck disc replacement surgery in January and has been having pain issues since, so we got referred to this clinic to help address the issue. Got an appointment with Dr. Artemus Flagg and have been seeing him till present. Still to this day he has yet to get wife's medical records from the surgeon that did my procedure, no test have been done to check the implant to rule that out as the cause of my pain, kept his promise to give her the epidural injection instead of prescribing her pain pills (which is not the solution we wanted). He had a "plan" of action all laid out on our first visit which was to figure out the issue and treat it.. now correct me if I'm wrong but you would need her medical records, X-rays, mri's, etc in order to locate the problem and correctly diagnose it and treat it. Instead he spends 2 minutes with her after a 2 hour wait just to collect her $50 copay and then write a script of pain pills. We don't want the damn pain pills, we want treatment, injection, another surgery if needed... not pain pills!!! All this doctor is, if you can call him that, is a glorified drug dealer with a degree! He is the prime example of what is wrong with doctors now a days... too scared to treat because of regulations or don't give a damn so they just write pain pills and send you on your way. Too busy reading their records to see how much they prescribe you instead of figuring out the problem but will write you up for hundreds of pain pills a month. Thankfully my wife has only been prescribed 1 pill a day for 30 days at a time but I watched a couple leave today with a script in their hand for a 3 a day for 30 days... that's 90 damn pain pills... and they blame the patient for the addiction!? No fool, you prescribed them and became their drug dealer and got them hooked cause you refused to treat the problem instead of masking it! Needless to say we are looking for a new doctor with honor and morals and a real plan of treatment! We don't want her getting addicted, we want her to get better and live a normal life again!
